Alba Urbano Alguacil

Born in Guadalajara, Spain, in 1999. Since 2023, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Aline Foriel-Destezet Cello Chair with professor Jens Peter Maintz. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz and plays a J. B. Collin Mezin (1892) cello loaned as an instrument scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She studied with Beatriz Blanco and Fernando Arias at the Vorarlberg Landeskonservatorium (Austria) and at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. She has received master classes from Michal Dmochowski, Danjulo Ishizaka, Claudio Bohórquez, Paolo Bonomini, Kazimierz Michalik, Gabriel Schwabe, Rafael Rosenfeld, Alban Gerhardt, Norbert Anger and Pablo Ferrández.

She has performed as soloist the Concerto no.1 for cello and orchestra by Saint Saens and recently Kol Nidrei by M.Bruch at the Museo Nacional Del Prado with the Chamber Orchestra of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.

She has participated in festivals and masterclasses such as Rutesheim Cello Akademie, Salzburger Festpiele, Procello Fundation or Verbier Festival.

Since 2022 she has been a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and since 2023 of the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

As a student of the School, she has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Csaba, and she is currently part of the Fundación Mahou San Miguel Trio and of the KPMG Schubert and the Pérez-Llorca Haydn quartets.
